Looking at the Bright Side

Those of you that have been following along for quite some time know that photography is not my full-time job. I have a corporate 9-5.  I try not to go into too much detail about that part of my life, but let’s just say it’s not my happy place.  It hasn’t been for a very long time. Last week was an extremely challenging one as I was transferred to another office (the second time in a year) and have been required to start “fresh” all over again.  Even though my week ended on a low note, I had two sessions planned over the weekend and I was really looking forward to getting my mind off of things.  I arrived a little early to my Sunday session and I had some time to myself to reflect on my current work situation.  There, in the middle of a gorgeous sunflower field, getting ready to meet another family for a session IS my happy place! And had it not been for my unhappy corporate existence, I would have never searched for a creative outlet (blogging) and in the process discovered my passion: photography! Many go through their entire lives never discovering theirs.  It may not be my only source of income for the time being, but at least I can say I’ve found it. And for that, I’m extremely grateful.

Amy - Sunflowers are such happy fellows!

I’m certainly thankfully for whatever started you blogging–how else would we have ‘met?’ :) So here’s to you, and moments of darkness that turn to light!

P.S.–one of these days photography will be your full time job. I’m certain!

Angelia Sims - I didn’t get a chance to see the fields here, but I know we had some gorgeous ones. I can’t imagine a more magical place than where you are. And girl, with your talent, you could easily do photography full-time.

emily - Such a pretty photo! I love sunflowers. Isn’t it interesting the path life leads you on…not necessarily a straight path by any means!

Keeley @ My Life on a Plate - I’m little behind on my blog reading, but I really like this post. I’m feeling the same way about my job at this point. I’m wondering if it’s just my current position or if I really did make a poor career choice. My passion is cooking… not sure I can make a living with it, but so happy I found a fun and productive hobby to get me through the hard days.
