Over the summer, Piper asked if I’d be interested in taking some photos around Coney Island for the One Sydney Road Boardwalk Shop. It had been years since I stepped foot on the famous boardwalk. Actually, the last time I visited we went with a large group and we were having so much fun going on the rides and playing the various boardwalk games that we didn’t realize that my youngest sister had wandered off on her own (she was three at the time)! When my mom realized that my sister was missing, it was complete chaos and panic, as we all searched frantically for her. She was a ball of tears by the time she was describing her to the police when a stranger walked up to her holding my baby’s sisters hand. She had heard my mom’s cries and she knew that she had to be the mother of the lost little girl. It all ended well, but we never stepped foot in Coney Island again….that is until this trip! And guess who I brought along for the ride?  My baby sister who is not a baby anymore, but still very much a wanderer  and free spirit.  Coney Island is just as enchanting now as adults, as it was years ago as a kids.  I can’t thank Piper enough for giving me a good excuse to rediscover an old favorite!

Being a very low maintenance girl myself, I’ve always wondered what all the makeup fuss was about. But after working alongside Alfredo on a boudoir shoot last month and watching him work his magic, I am now a believer! It takes a true artist to transform a model from shy and fresh faced to sexy and confident with a few strokes of  a brush – and yet make it look so natural! Even though you can get picture ready on your own, if you want to leave little room for error and treat yourself to something special at the same time, hiring a professional makeup artist  is a good way to go – especially if it’s Alfredo waving the wand!

I wish I could take all the credit for these clever moving announcements, but the truth is I enlisted the help of stationery designer and friend Sarah of Dodeline Design to come up with something fun announcing our change of address to family and friends. A little late on my part, but better late than never!  I absolutely loved the retro “air mail” theme she designed and everyone couldn’t stop raving about it too. Whenever I’m in need for anything paper related, Sarah is my favorite go-to girl!  * Address was digitally removed to protect our privacy.
