Puppy Cake Smash

Categories Getting Personal

So Parker turned one over the weekend and I wanted to do something special for his first birthday pictures. First things first:  I needed a puppy-friendly cake.  I’m not a baker, but this recipe I found online was super easy and Parker absolutely loved it! I crumbled up carob cookies from his existing treat stash for a “cookies + cream” look to his cake. I also created some quick and easy bunting flags from construction paper to add a little festive color to our background. Setup was easy. Getting Parker to cooperate? Not so much. Every time my camera came out, he’d make a mad dash in the opposite direction. And don’t ask me why I grabbed the ugliest stool I could find. I guess running after a puppy who is not a fan of pictures and who bee lines straight for the cake whenever unsupervised made me over look this major detail. By the time I realized it, the cake was half eaten and it was a moot point.  So please ignore the eyesore and let’s pretend it’s “distressed” on purpose, okay?

Hey up Maddy, ditto it has been a while, glad to hear from you hun! hope all is well at your end :) Now this actually reminds me of seeing a dog, that looked just like Parker a month ago, but have just realized Parker has grown a little, he’s after-all 1 now.

The stool looks fine btw very retro – I like it, but so too am I liking that cake! I mean I never knew you could bake cakes such as these for dogs..how adorable! The ingredients for the homemade cake is pretty healthy than what I would usually eat that is store baked!
